The constitutional accord as embodied in the 1996 Constitution.

Mission

The F W de Klerk Foundation’s goal is the promotion of peace in multi-community countries – that is, countries that include substantial and diverse ethnic, cultural or religious communities within their borders. The Foundation believes that it can best support this goal by promoting: Communication, understanding and engagement between communities. Respect for individual and collective constitutional rights and democratic processes. Research on the causes of conflict and the requirements for peaceful co-existence in multi-community societies. Mobilisation of resources to address social, health, educational and developmental problems.
