Mission
2. Mission Masizame is a public, non-profit organisation established with the following aims and objectives: 2.1 to ensure that vulnerable children in the Greater Plettenberg Bay jurisdiction are protected from abuse and neglect and are treated with dignity; 2.2 to empower vulnerable children to reach their full potential by providing a range of high quality services including intervention, counselling, promoting family reintegration and developing resilient families. 2.3 to provide a Residential Child and Youth Care centre staffed by qualified child and youth care workers and appropriate ancillary staff which offers a comprehensive therapeutic programme incorporating a developmental approach in compliance with minimum standards as defined in Chapter 15, Sections 191-212 of the Children’s Act 2005 (Act No. 38 of 2005, as amended); 2.4 to provide a Drop-In centre as an outreach for vulnerable children and youth offering intervention and counselling services to make available positive recreational diversions, literacy, numeracy, life skills and practical job skills, to vulnerable young people so as to prepare them to lead productive, positive and community-oriented lives; 2.5 to provide a ECD Programme as an outreach service to orphaned and vulnerable children (OVC) infected and affected by HIV/AIDS and other chronic conditions by means of comprehensive early childhood development (ECD), feeding, hygiene and social skills programmes and supporting their families by enhancing their parenting skills; 2.6 to work in partnership with grant makers, donors, community members, faith based organisations and social service organisations, with enthusiasm, commitment, and integrity. 2.7 to operate with compassion, and be recognised as a proactive, transparent, cost-effective, team orientated organisation that is responsive to the changing needs of the vulnerable children in our community while making maximum use of its limited resources.

Projects
1. Masizame Child & Youth Care Centre provides statutory residential care for 30 children from 6 to 18 years of age. Therapeutic and developmental programmes are managed by a professional multi-disciplinary team aligned to the individual child’s developmental plan. Family Reintegration is a major focus. 2.Masizame Drop-In Centre provides partial care services, including feeding, hygiene, counselling and life skills services. Our advocacy services promotes awareness of the needs of children living or working on the streets. 3. Masizame ECD Programme is an Early Intervention Community service for vulnerable children (OVC) infected and affected by HIV/AIDS and other chronic conditions by means of a WCED accreditted early childhood development (ECD) program, feeding, hygiene and social skills programmes and supporting their families by enhancing their parenting skills.
